about me

I believe that psychotherapy is most successful when it is tailored to what works for you. And that is different for everyone. Working as an independent psychotherapist gives me the flexibility and freedom to shape the process together with you.

I love nature and enjoy hiking. When I walk in the mountains, it is not about reaching the summit for me, but I enjoy the ever-changing view the most. After every turn and every climb, a new landscape is revealed. This is also what appeals to me about my profession. As a psychotherapist, I walk a part of the way with you, and together we are on a journey, the process. We see the landscape change together. Sometimes we stand still and look back at what lies behind us; sometimes we go deep. Occasionally, I ask you to step out of your comfort zone. At other times, we can laugh together and look at a situation with some humor. Here and there, I challenge you, but on steep paths, I am always there for support and to help you regain strength.

In practice, I often guide people in long-term processes, sometimes lasting several years. A good match or click is very important for the success of the process. And I believe in two-way communication, where I do not position myself as an anonymous listener but, when relevant, also share my own experiences with you. I have personally benefited a lot from psychotherapy and can relate well to your position. What I enjoy most is guiding people who want to give direction to their lives, are open to the process, and are willing to bring up painful emotions. Being in therapy for a while makes you better equipped to continue walking on your own (and also enjoy what you encounter along the way!).
